The Studio Hastings has two photography studios available for hire. The space is designed for creative and commercial use including photography, content creation, and small-scale productions.
A standard booking gives you use of one studio. If you require exclusive use of both studios simultaneously, please contact us directly to discuss availability and pricing.
By booking the studio, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Please note: The Studio is upstairs and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Studio access is provided on a monthly membership basis. Two tiers are available:
1 credit = 1 hour of studio time.
Credits roll over month to month as long as the membership remains active. Unused credits will be permanently lost if the membership is cancelled.
Sessions must be booked in advance by contacting us directly or via the member portal. Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once agreed in writing.
Your booking is for the agreed date and time only. Bookings are non-transferable and may not be resold or assigned without prior written consent.
Additional credits may be purchased at £10 per credit including VAT at any time.

Additional time used beyond the booked period will be deducted from available credits, or charged at £10 per hour including VAT if the member does not have sufficient credits remaining.
You are responsible for all content created during your booking. The studio must not be used to create or produce unlawful, offensive, or inappropriate material. We reserve the right to stop any shoot that we believe breaches this clause.
We may occasionally capture photography or video within the studio for marketing purposes. This will always be discussed and agreed with you in advance.
A short safety briefing will be provided at the start of your booking, including fire evacuation procedures. You and all your guests must attend this. You are responsible for ensuring any late arrivals are appropriately briefed.

All equipment must be safe, suitable, and in good working order.
All electrical equipment must be switched off when not in use and must not be left unattended while operating.
We reserve the right to prohibit use of any equipment or props we believe is unsafe.

You are welcome to bring your own lighting, props, and equipment, provided all items are safe, suitable, and used responsibly within the space. All equipment must comply with the Health & Safety and Electrical Equipment requirements outlined in these Terms.
Paper backdrops are available for use during your booking.
Charges apply only to the portion of backdrop used on the floor and will be calculated at £10 per metre (inclusive of VAT).
Backdrop usage will be assessed at the end of the session and is payable by card before departure. The amount of backdrop used will be determined at our reasonable discretion.
Backdrops must not be cut, marked, or damaged beyond normal use.
You are responsible for any damage caused during your booking, including damage to walls, floors, furniture, fixtures, props or equipment.
This includes marks, stains, or alterations requiring repair or cleaning.
The space must be left clean and tidy.
Additional cleaning or repair costs will be charged where required.
All equipment and personal belongings are brought into the studio at your own risk.
The Studio Hastings accepts no responsibility for:
Any items left in the studio after your booking may be disposed of if not collected within a reasonable time. We do not accept responsibility for items left behind.
Excessive noise is not permitted.
Tea and coffee are available.
If bringing external catering:
We are not responsible for allergies or dietary requirements.
Dogs are permitted if well behaved and under control at all times.
We reserve the right to ask that a dog be removed if disruptive.
You are responsible for the safety and conduct of all individuals attending your booking.

We may request proof of insurance for commercial shoots.
Cancellations must be made in writing to thestudio@181street.com or via the member portal.
If we need to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, we will return any used credit(s) to your account in full and offer an alternative date where possible.

Studio hire grants a temporary, revocable licence to use the space for the agreed booking period only.
It does not create any tenancy or exclusive right to occupy beyond the booked time.
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to power outages, equipment failure, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
